The Great Glue Review - Uhu glue.

I was first introduce to UHU General purpose glue when I was in first year of Uni, and it is still one of my favourite glues. I feel like it's the baby glue of Super Glue and a hot glue gun, it has a lot more sticking power than hot glue does, but you still have to manage the long strings of glue going everywhere. Now that I am well acquainted with this glue I tend to use it strait out of the tube, it is a aluminium tube so once you press, it will just keep coming out so be gentle with this one. Alternatively, as I did when I was first using it, you can squeeze some out and apply it with a tooth picker something similar. Especially if you're using it for really little areas like model making.  I primarily used it for model making during uni, it worked well mostly because of how quick it could stick very little surfaces together. Now that I am either layering paper or making quite large sculpture, I don't use it nearly as often, however i still have one on hand just in case. Once you have the glue, on once piece give it a little air time to get tacky and then it will take much faster. Keeping in mind that it dries in a yellowish semi transparent colour so it's best to be careful with it as it can make your work look real messy real quick.

Though this glue says that it spreads easily, I find that it is more work than it’s worth (For the sorts of things I'm doing anyway.) and that it is usually easier for me to break out the glue stick or the spray adhesives if I'm going for large coverage. This is probably why its fallen out of my frequently used category, but it is handy for small, non weight bearing, sticking.

I stuck all these staples and wires to my saw cacti with this glue, which was great because of its quick grab, I'm not stuck holding each one for minutes waiting for it to take. (however the small contact point means that this join is still very fragile).

This is a super handy and versatile glue that can do most things well, but not necessarily the best.
